Lee Electrical Construction is seeking an Estimator with experience in Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects.
This position will be responsible for collaborating closely with contractors and customers.
Field work, drawing, and estimating are essential for this position.
Successful candidates must communicate well, maintain a positive attitude and work well with others.
Key Responsibilities Estimate projects in accordance with Lee Electrical policies and contract requirements.
Utilize extensive knowledge in the field to contribute to the successful estimation of Transmission, Distribution and Substation projects.
Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
Must attend customer pre-bid meetings.
Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
Estimate costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Prepare quantity take-offs for use in development of vendor or subcontractor RFPs.
Consult with Superintendents and Crew Leaders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve inconsistencies.
Present completed estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
Prepare special reports to summarize information and trends.
Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing additional tasks, as necessary.
Participate in proposal development effort.
Provide meaningful performance related feedback/input to appropriate line management and project team members on estimates.
Assist in project management and cost control efforts as assigned depending on workload.
Basic Qualifications Must have extensive knowledge in Substation, Distribution and Transmission.
Previous experience in estimating for High Voltage projects, with a focus on EPC Substation and/or long-haul transmission.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or equivalent is highly desired.
General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
Ability to bid on multiple projects simultaneously.
In-depth knowledge of Substation, Distribution, or Transmission construction.
Ability to travel and stay out of town when necessary.
Must have at least five years experience working as an Estimator.
