Personnel/Group Movements Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Personnel and Group Movements Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the Personnel/Group Movement Operations, a multi-service Personnel and Group Movement Work Center in accordance with DoD 4500. 9-R, Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and other service-specific governing regulations. The position maintains operation control, supervision, and oversight of the daily operation, setting priorities of workloads, maintaining and sustaining all required regulatory publications and forms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Accounting Clerk III positions in support of posting to registers and ledgers; balancing and reconciling accounts; verifying the internal consistency, completeness and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents. This position also assigns prescribed accounting distribution codes and examines and verifies the clerical accuracy of various types of reports, lists, calculations and postings.
  • Supervises Travel Clerk III positions in support of planning of itinerary and scheduling travel accommodations for military and civilian personnel with dependents according to travel orders using knowledge of routes, types of carriers, and travel regulations.
  • Supervises Group Movement General Clerk positions in support of arranging group moves using commercial bus and charter air.
  • Supervises Bus Inspector positions in support of the bus inspection scheduling for unit group moves charter bus services.
  • Supervises General Clerk positions in support of maintaining all filing requirements on-site and at the off-site historical storage facility.
  • Actively engages in required briefings, meetings and correspondence with the customer.
  • Provides specialized, expedited assistance to customers who receive short notice, emergency movement directives or who because of distance cannot return for additional processing.
  • Provides updates as required to government staff.
  • Provides predictive analysis based on trends, past operations and current events.
  • Provides oversight of the processing of invoices.
  • Performs mission analysis for installation logistics support operations.
  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
