Electronics Technician Maintenance III (659th)

Job Summary:

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III, (Night Vision Device Repair) is responsible for the quality control of Field and Sustainment Level maintenance such as, but not limited to troubleshooting equipment, diagnosing system malfunctions, identifying corrective actions on servicing or repairs on military and commercial equipment as prescribed in the equipment Technical Manuals (TM's) and all other applicable manuals. Performs Technical, Acceptance, Final and Classification inspections on electronic repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Solves problems that include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
  • Performs repairs, troubleshoots, and restores the equipment to an operational status.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs of the Night Vision Device (NVD), in accordance with the applicable regulations, technical specifications and local policies.
  • Performs visual inspection on equipment.
  • Ensures all repairs are in accordance with the original manufacturers specifications or in accordance with local guidance.
  • Identifies defective components. Replace/repair the defective component(s).
  • Performs operational check(s) to verify proper operation of equipment.
  • Maintains appropriate government paperwork such as, but not limited to: DA Form 5990-E per DA Pam 738-751 and files (Job Packets) necessary for the maintenance and repair of the equipment.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
